Valencia spent millions of euros, from its own treasury - not the EU, into building one of the world's finest arts and sciences centres purely for public enjoyment and education.

The City of Arts and Sciences (http://www.cac.es/) was designed by Calatrava and built to an immense scale and level of quality. It is wonderful to behold.

The City of Arts and Sciences boasts an accoustically perfect Opera House (the design rivals that of Sydney), a science museum that your kids (or grand-kids) will love, an IMAX cinema (you can watch how they load the huge rolls of film onto the project) and the Oceanografic - Europe's finest marine centre where you can walk through underground glass tunnels, literally "through the fish tank"!
